Hello! We are Steve, Val & Bodhi Engelman - the proud owners of Kitchi Landing Resort. There was a great feeling of coming home when we purchased the resort in 2017 and we call it Kitchi Kismet how we landed here. My (Val’s) great-grandfather, Ben Hagen, owned the resort for a period of time in the late 40’s - then called Hagen's Resort (Home of the 3lb Crappies!). We were on a fishing trip on a nearby lake with our extended Hagen family Memorial Day 2017 and we stopped by for the first time to check out this piece of our family history. My Dad hadn't been here since he was 13. We looked around, stopped in the Lodge for a beer & visited with the owners. There, hanging on the wall, was that iconic dock photo of Ben with the still standing fish house in the back. We had a great visit and as we left, they jokingly said "hey, we put it on the market this week"…Kitchi Kismet. 5 months later we were moving in with our (then) 2-month-old son Bodhi. It's been a wild ride - but we couldn't imagine being anywhere else! We hope you'll join us in making your own memories on our little piece of our Northern MN paradise
